There is a strategy for filing a brief. In the appellate court, your brief could be the only chance you have to persuade the appellate judges of the strength of your position. So it’s very important to try and tell a compelling story, putting your facts in the most favorable light that you can and also fleshing out the legal issues in your case in a concise and compelling manner.
